Guide to Shopping in Las Vegas
Seasoned and casual shoppers alike will delight in the variety
of unique and nationally known boutiques, shops, retail stores, and other offerings
available in the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” Whether you’re
rubbing elbows with the big rollers in high-end retailers on the Vegas Strip, finding
that unbeatable bargain at the local outlet malls, or just discovering that needle-in-a-haystack
knickknack in an off-the-Strip antique store, Las Vegas is more than ready to meet
all of your shopping needs.
Nearly every resort on the Strip has its own selection of shopping featuring
designer goods and the hottest trends. No need to visit New Bond Street in London
or the Champs-Elyse’s in Paris, simply go to the Forum Shops at Caesar’s
Palace or Planet Hollywood’s Shops at the Miracle Mile. Vegas also has several
indoor malls, including the Fashion Show, the Galleria, the Boulevard and the Meadows
Mall. They’re all filled with local specialty shops as well as familiar favorites.
Bargain hunters will want to head toward shopping outlets such as the Fashion Outlets
of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Outlet Center, Las Vegas Premium Outlets, and the Fantastic
Swap Meet.
Attendees will enjoy the convenience of reaching nearly all these locations via
a short taxi or monorail trip along the miles of shops lining the Vegas Strip.
You can also opt for a stroll through the array of stores located in NAHC’s
Annual Meeting & Exposition headquarters, the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino,
or the overflow location just across the street at the Luxor. Both are full of
a range of options to tantalize you.
The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
The Forum Shops at Caesars on the Vegas Strip offers a unique atmosphere that
simulates ancient Roman streets. More than 160 stores create a retail mecca similar
to Rodeo Drive or Madison Avenue. Ann Taylor, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Tiffany — they’re
all there. But at the Forum Shops, you don’t just go shopping, you have an
adventure! In the Atlantis Show you’ll see the “wrath of the gods” unleashed
on the city with fire, water, smoke, and special effects bringing Atlas, Gadrius,
and Alia to life in their struggle to rule Atlantis. Enjoy the Festival Fountain,
a seven-minute special effects fantasy where sculptures of mythological Roman gods
come to life. Or see the Atlantis Aquarium, a 50,000-gallon saltwater aquarium
featuring a variety of tropical marine fish including puffer fish, butterfly fish,
sharks, and rays. When you’re not being awestruck by the play of the gods,
you can stop in for that pair of Jimmy Choos you always wanted.
Fashion Show Mall Las Vegas
At nearly 2 million square feet, the Fashion Show Mall on the Vegas Strip boasts
seven anchor stores including Macy’s, Dillard’s, Saks Fifth Avenue,
Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Neiman Marcus. It additionally features 250 specialty
stores and restaurants. You won’t be able to miss the Cloud, an architectural
canopy hovering 20 stories over the mall, which shades an outdoor plaza during
the day and acts as a projection screen for multimedia shows at night. The mall
also features the world’s only 80-foot retractable runway. Free fashion shows
are held hourly every weekend from noon to 6 p.m.
The Shoppes at Mandalay Place
For some, shopping isn’t an activity — it’s a destination in
and of itself. For NAHC Annual Meeting & Exposition attendees, that destination
is right outside your hotel room door. The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, located between
Mandalay Bay and Luxor, the two main meeting hotels, provides shops, eateries,
and unique experiences. You’ll find everything from Balinese carvings to
Picasso prints, sportswear to your favorite magazines. Elton’s Mens, Fredericks
of Hollywood, Urban Outfitters, and Suite 160 are among the clothiers available.
Those searching for the perfect necklace or pair of earrings will want to try Forever
Silver by Erwin Pearl, Le Paradis, or Te No. There’s something for everyone
and much more than you expect at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.
